Spring is here and nature and runners are ready to bloom!
The 2021 UW Cherry Blossom Run is going off campus to discourage gatherings in the Quad at University of Washington.
We are heading to the beautiful shores of Lake Washington at Seward Park in south Seattle over two days for a 5K & Half Marathon! Here you'll find that Lake Washington Blvd is lined with awe-inspiring cherry blossoms! Not to mention the gorgeous lake views during your entire run!
We are so impressed with this cherry blossom location that we just might host a 5K next year here too AS WELL as at the UW campus.
Start at the Seward park main entrance.
We will send runners in waves along Lake Washington Blvd Trail and back for a 5K or Half Marathon!
Take in the wonderful view of Lake Washington and Mercer Island.
Seward Park is KNOWN for the cherry trees. So what better way to celebrate spring by running alongside some of Seattle's oldest cherry blossom trees in bloom.
Course maps can be found at the top menu under Race Info.
Can't join us live? You can get out and enjoy running by some cherry blossoms wherever you are! Sign up for the virtual run and upload your results right here at www.racethebloom.com
The UW Botanic Gardens and the Center for Urban Horticulture is the major beneficiary.
Saturday April 17th and/or Sunday April18th, from 8 AM to 4 PM!
The 5K distance is scheduled on both weekend days and small waves of runners will go every 10 minutes between the hours of 8 AM and 4 PM!
Currently, the half marathon start times are scheduled for Sunday every ten minutes between the hours of 8 AM and 12 PM. If we get enough half marathon registrations we will expand waves into the afternoon as well.
Again, please don't arrive to Check-In tent sooner than 5 minutes before your schedule race wave time.
There is free street parking in the Seward Park neighborhood just west of Seward Park main entrance.
Remember race address is: 5900 Lake Washington Blvd S, Seattle, WA 98118
Check back on the website homepage for a link to the uploaded Safety Plan closer to race week (www.racethebloom.com)
We'll also be emailing all registrants the Safety Plan and final instructions during race week.
May I pick up bibs for family or friends? And where do I pick up race bib(s)?
Yes please do if you can! Pick them up from the Green Rainier Timing Check-In tent near the main entrance of Seward Park. Please don't arrive sooner than 5 minutes before your scheduled wave start time to adhere to social distancing and our Covid-19 Safety Plan.

No. Due to the money invested in donations and costs such as your shirt, bib, supplies, marketing, and so much more we cannot offer refunds. Thank you for understanding.
What will the races be like?
